RSI Undergraduate
Scholarship Program


Since 1989, the Railway Supply Institute Scholarship Program has provided scholarships to full time students from around the rail supply community. Over 90 students have received the RSI Scholarship which has contributed to their education in a variety of degrees such as nursing, teaching, engineering, business, and transportation specialists. As children of RSI or CMA members, you are welcome to apply for our scholarship.

View 2010 / 2011 School Year Scholarship Application

The deadline for the RSI scholarship
has been extended to April 2, 2010.

Applicants must be currently enrolled as a full time student at an accredited / post-secondary institution leading to an Associate's or Bachelor's degree. The applicant must expect to achieve at least Sophomore Status in his/her institution by the beginning of the 2010 / 2011 academic year. Ranking of applicants is based on grade point average, content of essay, letters of recommendations, community service, and work and school related activities.

Those eligible for the scholarship must be the son or daughter of a current employee whose company is a current member of the Railway Supply Institute or one of the Coordinated Mechanical Associations (CMA). These include:

  • Railway Supply Institute, Inc (RSI)
  • Air Brake Association, Inc. (ABA)
  • International Association of Railway Operating Officers (IAROO)
  • Mechanical Association Railcar Technical Services (MARTS)
  • Locomotive Maintenance Officers Association (LMOA)

As an individual or an RSI member company, you have the opportunity to contribute to the RSI Annual Scholarship Program. Contributions can be made in any amount and will add to RSI's ability to provide additional college scholarships each year. Your name will be listed in the RSI Official Program distributed at the RSI Annual Convention, be named on the RSI website, and will be noted our bi weekly newsletter.
