Benefits of Membership

RSI provides many benefits to its membership both tangibly with trade shows, marketing events, and up-to-date information, and intangibly by connecting members with a network of suppliers and potential customers and by giving your company an opportunity to play a larger role in the industry. See below for a list of just some of our benefits.

Up To Date Information:

RSI will keep you informed with regular e-mails, newsletters, and web site updates. Topics include upcoming industry events, legislative and regulatory updates, committee activities, and opportunities for participation, influence, and greater involvement.

Trade Shows & Marketing Events:

RSI tradeshows are not only well attended, but they bring relevant customers and rail industry leaders to view your products and services. We ensure success by inviting your customers and by working with the Coordinated Mechanical Associations to provide educational and technical sessions. Our next trade show, Railway Interchange 2011, has an expected attendance of over 5,000 customers from all over the rail industry. Exhibit space will go on sale in July 2010. Plans are also under way for our 2012 and 2013 trade shows.

Advocacy - The Supplier Voice In Washington:

RSI continues to be an independent advocate of the railway supply industry. We are well connected in Washington, DC and at the grassroots level. We promote the primary interests of the industry every day. RSI does not have to compromise its message because we must consider the competing interests of other parts of the railroad industry in general and when working with other railroad organizations and alliances. Members can get more involved in our work in Washington by joining our Washington Affairs Committee.

Committee Memberships:

RSI's goals are accomplished through the work of our project committees, which encompass the diversity of the industry. Members can get involved by joining a committee and supporting and advancing railway supply industry goals in both the public and private sectors.

Forums & Seminars:

RSI holds several events a year where members can meet with and learn from industry stakeholders. Each year we hold a roundtable event with Amtrak leadership, have a railroad executive speak at our annual meeting, and host all day forums on topical issues such as high speed rail funding and stimulus projects.

Leadership Opportunities:

RSI provides networking and professional development opportunities within the industry. Members can get involved by sitting on one of our 7 industry committees or the RSI board of directors. Throughout the year we ask for volunteers to help with event planning and assisting with newsletter articles.
