Support
Support of railway suppliers is important to the railroad industry.
The RSI organizes 7 project committees on critical issues such as safe transportation of hazardous materials, passenger transportation, and grade crossing safety that meet to craft solutions that support our membership's continuing efforts to revolutionize the rail industry.
Connection
Railway suppliers are connected and strengthened by RSI.
RSI members meet and do business with freight and passenger railroads and other suppliers at annual conferences, tradeshows and industry events. Moreover, we can work as the center of the industry network, making person-to-person contacts for you with key players in the companies you need to work with in your business. Our member only e-mail reports and reports keep you up-to-date industry events, developments, and issues.
Advocacy
RSI is your voice in Washington.
The RSI is a presence on Capitol Hill and among the agencies that write the rules for the rail industry, continually advocating safe, sensible, and efficient solutions that work for rail, suppliers, and the people who depend on us to move their goods. Moreover, we can connect you to the people who count through events like "Railroad Day on the Hill." As a member of RSI, you join a powerful voice for rail in America.

Membership Classification
Dues are based on the member company's Global Railway products and services for rail transportation use or Global Sales to Rail Suppliers for rail transportation use. The membership category is selected by the member company based on gross sales to rail transportation or to other suppliers for rail transportation use during the immediate preceding calendar year. (i.e., if your rail sales/service revenue last year was $15 million, check class II-A and pay $6,000.00 in dues for 2008.
Important: A member company's wholly owned divisions or subsidiaries may be included under the principal company's membership providing that the individual wholly owned divisions or subsidiaries total gross rail sales/service revenue is considered when figuring 2008 RSI dues.
RSI is a not-for-profit incorporated trade association under S501 (c) of the Internal Revenue Code. Hence, dues are not deductible as a charitable contribution; but that percentage of your dues not allocated to federal and state lobbying is deductible as a normal business expense. You will be advised of the non-deductible percentage when your dues payment is received.
